How To Tell When Your Bread Dough Is Ready
I recently posted my favorite Quick and Easy Bread Recipe. It only takes one hour to make this bread! It is my favorite bread to make because it is so simple and uses 6 ingredients.
I make it for my family often. Sometimes, we give it to neighbors, too.
I thought I would teach you how to know if your bread dough is ready.
You need to pay attention to the dough. When you are mixing the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, there comes…
The Point of No Return.
This occurs once all of the ingredients are mixed together. If you are not watching, your dough might end up not working right.
If your dough is too wet or too dry, AND you continue to mix it, then it will not turn out. So, you will need to pay attention and watch for when everything is mixed.
How do you know if it is right? Check the dough.
The dough is too dry if the flour does not mix in all the way. Add some water, about 1 tablespoon at a time.
The dough is too wet if it is sticking to the sides and bottom of the bowl. Add some flour, about 1/4 cup at a time.
Your dough is PERFECT when it comes off of the sides and bottom of the bowl.
At that point, you can continue to knead the dough in your mixer for about 5 minutes. Then, you are ready to continue making your bread. Check out my One Hour Bread Recipe here.
